Secret Florence 2024: Stefano Maurizi and Coşkun Karademır in concert
Secret Florence, a consolidated festival of Estate Fiorentina, is presenting its ninth edition from June 4 to July 16. The project, carried out by five internationally active institutions based in the City of Florence’s urban area, Fabbrica Europa, Lo Schermo dell’arte, Musicus Concentus, Tempo Reale and Centro Nazionale per la Danza Virgilio Sieni, is conceived for a series of scenic spaces that are mostly not previously used or not habitually used by the public, or for well-known spaces that are reinterpreted in surprising ways, where dance, music, art, and cinema performances adapt to the architectural and acoustic characteristics of different places each time. Therefore, the actions that make up the project also take part in the rediscovery of traditional spaces under a new light; they may establish different aesthetic perspectives within previously unused and current buildings or environments, or reveal forgotten and unknown cultural events and stories. All the artistic initiatives are part of a territorial unicum, and in certain cases are even an actual complete novelty in the international scenery of contemporary artistic research.

For the ninth edition of Secret Florence, once again Musicus Concentus opens the doors of the Cloister of the Carmine Convent for an exclusive event: on Tuesday, June 6, h.19.00, Stefano Maurizi and Coşkun Karademır will perform live for the first time together in a concert with the participation of Stefano “Cocco” Cantini.
Migration Routes is a musical project based on the dialogue between the musical richness created by the multiculturalism of the Anatolian geography and contemporary jazz. The project was born from a meeting between the Italian pianist Stefano Maurizi with Coşkun Karademır, a great exponents of the Turkish World Music, who gave life to an exciting album of absolute expressive depth.
The music of Migration Routes is based on melodic interactions that arise from ancient spiritual sounds of Anatolia that at the same time leave ample room for variations and improvisations of the musicians. For this unique concert, Stefano Maurizi on piano and Coşkun Karademır on kopuz and vocals are joined by a special guest: Stefano “Cocco” Cantini, a famous Italian saxophonist, on soprano sax and Etruscan suplu.
Reservations for the concert open on May 29, h.9:30, at this link: https://www.boxol.it/next/it/MusicusConcentus/select-ticket/520348
