Davide “Boosta” Dileo brings Lux Non Finita (“Endless Light”) to Florence Cathedral, an original project conceived specifically for the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and presented as a world premiere. A scholar and enthusiast of medieval music, the co-founder and keyboardist of Subsonica takes the monodic chant of the Christian tradition as his starting point, with particular attention to Gregorian chant and other forms of sacred monody, creating an encounter between musical memory and contemporary sensibility.
This ancient musical heritage is brought into dialogue with an essential, meditative sound world in which voices intertwine with acoustic instruments and electronics. An encounter between different eras and musical languages, conceived in direct relationship with the architecture, acoustics and spiritual dimension of the Cathedral.
Joining Boosta will be the strings and brass of Ensemble Suoni Riflessi, the Florence-based ensemble conducted by Mario Ancillotti, and the Choir of the Cappella Musicale of Florence Cathedral, conducted by Michele Manganelli.
