Formed in 2010 as a side project by Cooper Crain (Cave), Bitchin Bajas quickly stood out for their psychedelic and kraut-rock approach, softened by a more ethereal electronic exploration. From their debut Tones / Zones (2010), the project rapidly became prolific, expanding with the addition of Dan Quinlivan (Mahjongg) and later Rob Frye (Cave), whose contributions—ranging from flute and saxophone to guitar—definitively shaped the trio’s identity.
After signing with Drag City, the band released Bitchitronics (2013), Transporteur (2015), and the illuminating tribute to Sun Ra, Switched On Ra (2021). With Bajascillators (2022), the group further broadened its sonic vision, refining increasingly fluid and immersive electronic textures. Inland See (2025) now stands as the natural evolution of this journey, reaffirming Bitchin Bajas’ unique place within the contemporary ambient scene.
