Malvax were founded in 2014 in Pavullo nel Frignano, a small town in the Modena Apennines. The group is distinguished by a fresh and light sound, punctuated by synths that taste like pop with a vaguely vintage feel. Malvax are Lorenzo Morandi (vocals and acoustic guitar), Francesco Ferrari (piano and synth), Giacomo Corsini (drums) and Jurij Cirone (bass).
The band’s most important experiences include the victory of the “Road the Main Stage” contest by Firestone & Radio Italia in 2019 , which allowed them to perform in Piazza Duomo in Milano opening for a variety of artists, including Sting, Ultimo, Marco Mengoni, Loredana Bertè, Alessandra Amoroso, Ligabue (and many others) and to appear in Rolling Stone; the victory of “Bologna Musica d’Autore (BMA)” festival, also in 2019; the selection for three consecutive years (2020, 2021 and 2022) at the Sanremo Festival auditions in the newcomers category; and the placement among the four absolute winners of “Musicultura” in 2022.
In 2023, Malvax won “Music For Change” and placed third in the “Premio Lunezia” by winning the Radio Bruno award. In the spring/summer of the same year, the band releases the EP disco-teca along with a series of concerts throughout Italy. “Quasi Umani”, released in February 2024, is their latest single, with which Malvax launch a new tour that will see them play on the most important clubs on the peninsula.
