After experiences with His Clancyness, A Classic Education, Settlefish and Brutal Birthday, Italian-Canadian artist James Jonathan Clancy will present his first album under his own name, Sprecato, released on 2 February on the label he founded Maple Death Records, seven years after his last studio work, at the Sala Vanni in Florence on 6 April.
Cosmic loner folk, bucolic minimalism, proto-electronics, roots psychedelia and ambient ecstasy, combined with “Walkerian” lyricism and dreamlike dilations draw a line crossed by an alien cowboy in perpetual emotional transport. Imaginative songs that occupy space. To complete Sprecato, Clancy brought together a cast of international avant-garde friends and guests including Stefano Pilia (co-producer, guitar, modular, synths, bass/Afterhours, Massimo Volume, Zu), Andrea Belfi (drums), Enrico Gabrielli (flutes/19’40”, PJ Harvey, Calibro 35) and Francesca Bono (piano/Bono-Burattini).
