Born in ’81, GNUT is a Neapolitan singer-songwriter who has been treading the music scenes for years, following his own unique and personal journey: a songwriting that brings together Nick Drake and Elliot Smith with the Italian music tradition and the Neapolitan song of Roberto Murolo.
Nun te ne fa’ is the result of a writing effort that began in 2014, thanks to the friendship and strong artistic ties forged with Neapolitan poet Alessio Sollo and English songwriter Piers Faccini. The latter, already the producer of GNUT’s second album Il rumore della luce, is not only the producer and arranger of this record but welcomes GNUT to his Beating Drum label since 2018, with the release of the limited edition vinyl EP Hear My Voice. The title in Neapolitan means “don’t give too much weight to problems”: a saying that also represents a philosophy of life that distinguishes all of southern Italy and Naples in particular.
