Tania Giannouli is a Greek pianist and composer who, building on a solid classical background, has developed a highly personal vision of jazz, open to experimentation and cross-pollination. In her music, composition and improvisation exist in constant balance, drawing on a wide range of influences while retaining a strong lyrical identity, a keen attention to timbre and a conception of sonic space as an integral part of the writing itself.
In 2025 she was named Rising Star Pianist of the Year in the international DownBeat Critics Poll, a recognition that confirmed her growing prominence on the contemporary jazz scene. At the end of October 2026, Metakosmos, her new album in duo with Swiss pianist and composer Nik Bärtsch, will be released by Outhere Music / Fuga Libera.
For I Poeti del Piano Solo, Giannouli will instead return to the most essential dimension of solo piano, where composition, improvisation, silence and resonance become the elements of a musical narrative in constant transformation.
