Tujiko Noriko is a Japanese singer, songwriter, and filmmaker based in Paris. Since the early 2000s, she has released numerous experimental pop albums, weaving bittersweet melodies sung in Japanese and English with glitch electronics, downtempo textures, and electro-acoustic arrangements. Her critically acclaimed work has led her to collaborate with key figures of the international scene such as Aoki Takamasa, Lawrence English, and John Chantler, and to release music on labels including FatCat, Room40, PAN, and Editions Mego.
In 2023 she released Crépuscule I & II (Editions Mego), a double album in which the boundary between song and soundscape is deliberately porous. Spanning two discs and a total running time of one hour and forty-six minutes, the record moves through different yet complementary forms, offering soft, luminous ambient music poised between alienating beauty and human warmth. The album was also presented live through a series of audiovisual concerts, developed in collaboration with filmmaker, animator, and graphic artist Joji Koyama.
