Co-founder of Quintorigo, John De Leo is an Italian singer and composer, a multifaceted artist with a flexible and experimental vocal style. His voice-as-instrument blends into an articulate compositional vision that draws from folk traditions, jazz, rock, contemporary classical music, as well as spoken word and performance art.
The Duo project with guitarist Fabrizio Tarroni is one of John De Leo’s earliest musical partnerships. Able to play his semi-acoustic Gibson as if it were also a true percussion instrument, Tarroni merges this original technique with De Leo’s eclectic ideas and voice. Joining the well-tested Duo is another of John’s long-time collaborators: Franco Naddei (aka Francobeat), who samples and manipulates sounds in real time, adding a more electronic character to the project’s acoustic foundation.
