Discoverland is a musical project created in 2011 by Pier Cortese and Roberto Angelini, both instrumentalists, producers and songwriters with several records and collaborations to their credit. The idea is to reinterpret in an innovative way Italian and international songs that have marked the history of music, in a mix of vocals, guitar, steel guitar and electronics with unexpected textures and colors.
Two LP were born from the project: Discoverland (2012), which combines fantasy, research and paradox in an evocative and surreal amalgam, evoking connections such as that between Bjork and The Kings of Convenience or Ben Harper and Fabrizio De Andrè, and Drugstore (2016), where the songs are completely transformed with an electro-bucolic approach, taking the listener to a “psychedelic ranch”, a land of discovery where exploration and experimentation are at the center of the creative process.
After many concerts around Italy and a long break, the urge to confront new territories was born. This time, in addition to sound research, there is the need for an original narrative: a reflection that culminated with the release of a concept album of unreleased songs in September 2024 entitled Ero, presented with a series of concerts together with Niccolò Fabi.
