FRANKIE (Franziska Aigner) is a multidisciplinary artist, cellist, and vocalist based in Berlin. Her practice moves across experimental music and performance, combining spoken word, vocal abstraction, and sonic deconstruction. Her performances are marked by an intimate, non-spectacular intensity. She has collaborated with Anne Imhof, William Forsythe, and Austin Lynch, and holds a PhD in philosophy.
Kelman Duran is a producer and composer born in the Dominican Republic and based in Los Angeles. His work fuses Caribbean rhythms and dembow with experimental electronic music, shaping a sound driven by strong political and emotional tension. He has collaborated with artists such as Beyoncé, Rosalía, and The Martinez Brothers, and has contributed, among other projects, to Beyoncé’s Renaissance and to the soundtrack of the film Rodeo, which premiered at Cannes in 2022.
The collaboration between FRANKIE and Kelman Duran takes shape in their debut album McArthur, inspired by MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. The project merges Caribbean-rooted rhythms with avant-garde electronic experimentation, addressing themes of migration, diasporic identity, and hybrid club culture. FRANKIE’s fragile yet incisive voice enters into dialogue with Duran’s rhythmically bold production in a performance that oscillates between cinematic stillness and rhythmic eruptions. Designed to adapt to different contexts—experimental festivals, art spaces, club nights, and intimate listening environments—the project maintains a strong formal and conceptual coherence.
