DESCRIPTION:Musicus Concentus and Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore present \nFRANCESCO – LO PRIMO FRATE MINORE\n🇮🇹 National premiere \nFriday\, May 24\, 2024\nCattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore\, h. 21:00 \nReservations for the concert open May 17 at this link: https://duomo.firenze.it/it/eventi/11120/francesco-lo-primo-frate-minore \nStarting from the medieval practice of the Contrafactum\, that is\, using different texts (sacred and profane) for the same melody\, Maestro Federico Bardazzi and Carla Zanin developed this new project that expands the dialogue between ancient and modern repertoires\, including songs in English as the elective idiom of contemporary music\, capable of bringing Francesco’s message to everyone: for this reason English is added to Italian\, vernacular\, Latin and Sanskrit. \nIn composing the texts\, Cristina Borgogni has chosen phrases that Francesco said and wrote giving an emotional and chronological body to his words as read in the Lauds\, the Rule\, the Testament and the Little Flowers\, which recount his life from the passion of his youth to the depths of his Testament\, ending with the Canticle which is his hymn to creation and to God. \n“Francesco – Lo primo frate minore” unfolds between declaimed and sung word in a circular path of all registers: lauds and medieval dances also of ethnic inspiration alternate with pieces of international pop and the interiority of Ennio Morricone’s compositions\, in a natural alternation between different musical genres and in a dialogue between the Middle Ages and the contemporary\, with the aim of intimately reaching every heart and every conscience. \n–\n🎟️ Free entry with mandatory reservations from May 17\, 2024\nℹ️ For more informations: opera@duomo.firenze.it \n
