SUMMARY:Elias Stemeseder & Thomas Morgan Duo
DESCRIPTION:Musicus Concentus presents \nA Jazz Supreme\nELIAS STEMESEDER & THOMAS MORGAN DUO\nOpening act: ESMERALDA SELLA \nFriday\, October 4\, 2024\nSala Vanni\, h. 21:15 \nElias Stemeseder // piano\, keys\nThomas Morgan //double bass \nPianist\, composer and electronic musician Elias Stemeseder (winner German Jazz Award 2023 as ‘Pianist of the Year’) and Grammy-nominated bassist Thomas Morgan first met in 2010 in the trio of US drummer Jim Black. In the following decade\, they played countless concerts in that constellation (including the inaugural night of A Jazz Supreme 2020) and recorded critically acclaimed albums for Winter&Winter and Intakt Records. \n \nTheir new duo program\, with Stemeseder on piano and harpsichord and Morgan on double bass\, presents pieces from different centuries and musical origins\, ranging from Gesualdo\, American show tunes\, Austrian folk melodies and originals in vibrantly colourful reinterpretations and chamber-musical intimacy. \nOpening act: ESMERALDA SELLA \nEsmerlanda Sella is a 1997-born pianist based in Siena. She is currently involved with the Magma Trio\, along with Federico Giolito on double bass and Giovanni Nardiello on drums\, and on her solo career. It was in June 2024 that she recorded Ijo\, her debut piano solo album\, born of her discovery of sacred rhythms\, melodies and dances from Africa and deported through slaves to remote and hidden places in the world. A long journey through the knowledge and embrace of a repertoire filled with culture\, tradition and sacredness\, expressed through body\, hands\, voice and unfamiliar timbres. \n \n–\n A Jazz Supreme\n🎟️ Tickets in presale: 15€ + 1\,50€ (commission fee) BUY NOW\n🎟️ Tickets at the door (if available): 20€ / 16€ for Under 25 \n
