Founded in Florence in 2019 under the name Big Breast On Fat Boys, Spleen is a rock band formed by Samuele Riccucci (guitar and vocals), Matteo Innocenti (drums), Olmo Fantini (guitar) and Alberto Sanna (bass). Characterized by dark and refined sounds but with a dirty and aggressive character, the band signed in February 2024 a record contract with the Contempo Records label, releasing in June the first single “Dystopic School”. The single gets great reviews in England, numerous radio plays and surpasses 4,000 Spotify plays in the first month.
The release of the band’s new EP is scheduled for the end of November, which will be supported by a series of dates in Italy and England, including an evening at Hope and Anchor, a historic London venue where the Stranglers recorded a live record and where they have played Jam, Ramones, Police, XTC, Cure, Joy Division, Pogues, among others.
